Fernando Espinosa de los Monteros was born in Madrid in 1957 and graduated from the Technical School of Architecture of Madrid in 1983. He then set up EME Arquitectos and EMA Arquitectos whose professionals have designed more than 15,000 homes and turned the firms into leading names in the home building industry in Spain. Fernando Espinosa de los Monteros has been a board member of ICOMOS (the International Council on Monuments and Sites) since 2004. He is an expert on renovation and has been responsible for such prominent projects as the renovation and extension of the Palace of the Infante Don Luis de Borbón in Arenas de San Pedro (Ávila) and the renovation of the Viana Palace in Madrid, home to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
